Métis Nation of Saskatchewan Youth Council "Guiding Principals"
The MNSYC will operate in partnership with the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan and Métis National Youth Advisory Council and its provincial affiliates. It is now and will remain a non-political group, formed to ensure the voice of the Métis youth in Saskatchewan is heard at every level.
The MNSYC's goals and objectives are to operationalize the "MNSYC Statement of Purpose" within the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan constitution.

Métis Nation of Saskatchewan Youth Council 'Statement of Purpose'
As Métis Youth we face numerous obstacles and hurdles in our community to achieve our dreams and aspirations. We the MNSYC believe we are no longer the future leaders of tomorrow, we are the leaders of today. Therefore, we declare the following Statement of Purpose:
WHEREAS, the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan Youth Council looks towards the empowerment of all youth in the province of Saskatchewan and from across the Métis Homeland.
AND WHEREAS, the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan Youth Council looks to promote and achieve active youth participation in the future of our great Métis Nation as a whole.
THEREFORE WE DECLARE, the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan Youth Council looks to pursuing the following:
- To establish a democratic, mandated and self-sufficient Métis Youth Secretariat to promote the interests and aspirations of all Métis youth within the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan.
- To encourage the full participation of all Métis Youth in Saskatchewan and across the Homeland.
- To promote and foster 'grassroots' Métis Youth initiatives in Saskatchewan and across the Homeland.
- To advocate for the issues, concerns, and problems facing Métis Youth within Saskatchewan and the Métis Nation.
- To unite Métis Youth together for the betterment of our nation at a local, regional, provincial and national level.
- To establish effective means of communication for Métis Youth in our province and across the Homeland.
- To advocate for Métis Youth impute, insight and participation to ensure successful Youth Programming across the Homeland.
- To promote closer relations and emotional support structures between Métis Youth in Saskatchewan and across the Homeland.
- To advocate for the education and training needs of Métis Youth in order for Métis Youth to achieve their educational aspirations.
- To promote the history, values, culture, language and traditions of the Métis people and to create awareness within the Métis Nation of our proud heritage.
- To promote Métis Youth artistic and cultural achievements.
- To promote spiritual, cultural, mental and physical wellness for Métis Youth.
- To work with the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan, Métis National Council, and it's provincial affiliates of the Métis Nation of Ontario, the Manitoba Métis Federation, the Métis Nation of Alberta, and the Métis Provincial Council of British Columbia for the representation of the interests of the Métis Youth at the community, provincial, national and international levels.
- To promote and advocate for stronger communications that benefits and educates the Métis Youth.
- To ensure Métis Youth play a role in the continuation of our strong Métis Nation.
