Provincial Metis Housing Corporation (PMHC) is a delivery agent for Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation and Municipal Government Housing Division. PMHC is currently delivering home repair programs in a designated area of the Province of Saskatchewan.
The home repair programs are targeted for low income home owners that require assistance to make repairs to major problems with their homes. The repair programs that are currently being delivered are the Home Owner Residential Rehabilitation Assistance Program (RRAP), the Disabled RRAP, the Emergency Repair Program, the Home Adaptations for Seniors Program, and the Home Modification for Disabled Program. The funding for these programs has been extended to March 2003 and at the present time the future of these programs is unknown.
Provincial Metis Housing Corporation currently has a staff of three people to carry out the delivery functions of the programs. Examples of these functions include inspection services and income calculations application reviews. There is a large demand for these programs and they are very important in maintaining the existing housing stock in Saskatchewan.
